How AI-fluent are you, really?
Most AI quizzes ask if you've used ChatGPT. This one scores you across the 4 Ds — Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence — so you know your real fluency level and exactly which D to work on first.
Why take it
Three things you walk away with
01
See your real level, fast
Not a vibe-based gut check. A fluency level — Aware, Capable, or Sharp — based on 16 structured questions that step up in difficulty as you score well, anchored to the four Ds used in working practice.
02
Find your weakest D
Per-D breakdown so you can see which of Delegation, Description, Discernment, or Diligence is dragging your overall fluency down — plus the single sharpest sub-skill to work on first.
03
Take the full report home
A downloadable PDF with your level, per-D breakdown, the recommended D to start with, and the full transcript of all 16 questions + the answer you picked. Yours to save, share, or revisit.
What you'll be asked
The 4 Ds — Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence
Eight questions per D. The framework is durable across models and tools — it's about how you work with AI, not which AI you happen to use.
Delegation
Decide what AI is for. Match the task to the tool. Know when to delegate fully, when to draft together, and when not to reach for AI at all.
Description
Tell the AI what you need with the five elements that matter: context, instruction, constraints, examples, output specification. Three lenses — Product, Process, Performance — for prompts that work.
Discernment
Read past the polish. Catch the factual, logical, and contextual errors. Diagnose sycophancy, hedging, evasion, and false certainty in AI behaviour.
Diligence
Verification, attribution, privacy, ethics. Take responsibility for what gets sent, shipped, or acted on — because the AI doesn't.

FLUENCY CHECK FAQ
Common questions about the Check
About four minutes. The Check is 16 questions across the four Ds — Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence — set across a normal work week, and your progress is saved in your browser as you go.
No. You see your level and per-D breakdown immediately when you finish. Drop your email at the end if you want the result sent to you with the recommended next step.
Your headline fluency level (Aware, Capable, or Sharp), a per-D breakdown showing where each of the four Ds lands, your single sharpest sub-skill to work on, and a recommended starting point in the AI Fluency program based on your weakest D.
The Check tells you where you stand in about four minutes. The course teaches you the four Ds properly across 14 lessons + 4 interactive practice exercises (about three hours, free, with a certificate). The Check is the on-ramp.
Different scope. The AI Readiness Assessment looks at your whole AI program at the organisation level — 27 questions, 15 minutes, board-ready PDF. The AI Fluency Check looks at one individual's working AI fluency — 16 questions, about four minutes, also with a downloadable PDF. Pair them: org diagnostic for leadership, individual upskilling for your people.
Each answer scores from 0 to 3, so a strong answer counts for more than a near-miss. As you score well within a D, later questions in that D step up to harder ones — so the result reflects how far your judgement actually goes, not just whether you cleared a low bar.
The four Ds — Delegation, Description, Discernment, Diligence — draw on terms popularised by Rick Dakan and Joseph Feller's AI Fluency Framework, cited as inspiration. Our definitions, sub-dimensions, scoring, and the Aware → Capable → Sharp model are our own. Each D has its own dimension of working practice, with four questions per D per session so the per-D score is meaningful.
Yes — useful to track your own progress after working through the course. Each session draws 16 questions from a pool of 64, so a retake mostly shows fresh questions rather than the same set again.
